I'd like to put this in as an entry, my bento from today.

On the left : Turkey with fennel, onions and lemon with some black sesame seeds to add color. Brown rice with my favorite furikake lately - nori, bonito, sesame seeds and egg.
On the right: Simple mixed greens salad with tomato, yelllow peppers and radishes.

Looks great and I love your background too. So... by the ingredients, is that Seto Fumi furikake?

Yep, it's Seto Fumi. I love it and my jar is already half gone heh. I also have Shiso Fumi and I can't for the life of me make myself eat anymore of it. I really don't like it. I see the jar and a little voice in my head says "but I don't like it mommy!" I'll have to give it to my uncle since it's already opened, the whole jar is still full HAHAHA.

Ugh I know what you mean. I don't know if I've ever had Shiso Fumi, but I can't stand Ochazuke Wakame. It's great in a rice recipe we make, but other than that, I can't stand it for ochazuke.

An onigiri lady with tomato red hair and lips, nori eyes, broccoli stalk arms and sukiyaki furikake! (Very tasty)

She is filled with bulgogi beef and there is also some bulgogi under her. The side car is steamed broccoli and zucchini with tomatoes and some pesto sauce in the container for mixing in later.

With the card! I don't have a working printer and I would have eaten it before I could have gotten to one, so I hope this is ok.

Here's my entry!
Danielle B, USA

I tried to get it in natural light, but we don't have much of that here in upstate NY in the winter.   Sad

I have a deviled egg (upper left and lower right), decorated with nori swirls and stabilized with romaine lettuce, as well as three onigiri with furikake mixed in.  They're wrapped in plastic to avoid unwanted sticking.  The bottom left is shrimp flavored, the middle is beef flavored, and the upper right is seaweed and salmon.  I also have baby carrots, green grapes, and there are two little chocolate coins tucked in the side, but you can't see them too well in the picture.  I just ate it for lunch and it was delicious!   Smiley

Okay, I can see coppelia's bento much better now. lol

It's freaking adorable! I love how you made the bottom onigiri like a dress for her and then gave her tomato hair. Genius!

Your bento looks great Danielle! I love how you did the deviled eggs with the nori swirls, very cute and artistic.

Here is my entry, finally.
I was out of furikake so I decided to make some. I used black and white sesame seeds, nori, salt, fresh black peppercorns and a pinch of cayenne for a kick. I really liked it with the peppercorns. So I put it on some onigiri filled with tuna and wasabi mayo. Yum! Thanks for hosting this drawing pikko Smiley

So pretty Shani. Are those beets?

I'm really loving this whole "make your own" furikake thing. I'd never even considered that!

Hi Pikko. Yes they are beets, I loooove beets. The furikake was easy to make though I wish I had a mortar and pestil, that would have been even easier. I just put all the ingredients on a cutting board and used the bottom corner of a heavy pan to crush all the them all together. I learned this from my step-dad who is a chef. He would crack fresh peppercorns like this for delicious pepper steak.  That where I got the idea to put the peppercorns in it.
